| Kabul Koşulları | 1) Herhangi bir 4 yıllık lisans mezunu olanlar başvurabilirler. 2)Son üç yılda yapılmış olan Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitim Sınavına (ALES) girmiş olmak ve bu sınavdan başvurulan programın puan türünde en az 55 puan almış olmak gereklidir. 3)Lisansüstü eğitim programlarına başvurularda yabancı dil sınavı Üniversitemizce yapılmamakta, sadece resmi geçerliliği olan yabancı dil belgelerine sahip olanlar lisansüstü eğitim programlarına başvurabilmektedirler. Bu nedenle, ÜDS veya KPDS’den en az 50 puan, İngilizce, Fransızca ve Almanca için Üniversitelerarası Kurulca kabul edilen bir sınavdan (TOEFL, IELTS, CEFLE, ZDF’den) ÜDS’nin 50 puanına eşdeğer bir puan almış olmak gerekmektedir. Adaylar, önceden duyurulan gün ve saatte, sırayla mülakata alınır. Mülakat, 100 tam not üzerinden değerlendirilerek adaya mülakat notu verilir. Mülakat notu, 70’in altında olan adaylar başarısız kabul edilir. Bir adayın başarı değerlendirmesi/notu: Başvurduğu programın puan türünden ALES puanının veya GRE/GMAT puanının % 50’si ile; 1) Yüksek lisans diplomasıyla başvuran adaylar için, yüksek lisans kademesi not ortalamasının % 20’si ve mülakat notunun % 30’unun toplanmasıyla, 2) Lisans diplomasıyla başvuran adaylar için, lisans kademesi not ortalamasının % 20’si ve mülakat notunun % 30’unun toplanmasıyla elde edilir. Adayların değerlendirme sonrası aldıkları ağırlıklı toplam puana göre sıralanır ve en yüksek puanlı adaydan başlanarak kontenjana göre öğrenci alınır. | Kabul Koşulları (İngilizce) | So as to be admitted to the program, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from relevant faculties. Recognition of Prior Learning
Lateral transfer is possible for students of master's and doctorate programmes who have successfully completed at least one semester at another department of the same university and the same institute, or at a master's and doctorate programme of another equivalent institute of another higher education institute. According to the related bylaws, the courses that a lateral transfer student should take within the scope of 'Programme Adjustment' are determined by the committee of the relevant department. The determination of which and how many of the previously taken courses should be recognized within scope of the minimum course load, is suggested by the advisor and the committee of the relevant department,as well. "Full Recognition" is provided upon the approval of those courses by the board of chairs of relevant institute.
Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.
Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of informal and non formal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are subject to a final exam, other than the exams they have taken and the studies they have been involved in. Each semester, students are given at least one mid-term examination. Apart from mid-term examinations, quizzes can be given without announcing a specific date. The criteria (quiz, mid-term, assignment, final exam, etc.) and the ratio taken into consideration for success assessment in the courses are stated in the syllabi distributed to the students at the beginning of each semester and/or published on the web site. Final examinations are made in dates, places and times determined and announced by the University. The students’ final semester grade is given by their instructors based on mid-term and final examination results, semester studies, and compliance with attendance regulations. Courses, which do not require mid-term and/or final examinations, are determined by the related Heads of Departments/ School Directors, and the Registrar’s Office is informed accordingly. Final grades for such courses are given based on their coursework throughout the term. The end of semester course grade is submitted to the Registrar’s Office by the lecturer with success evaluation criteria. The semester grades become final after being announced by the Registrar’s Office.
