Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Identify basic measurement equipments.
2) Interpret the effect of measurement equipment while connected to a circuit.
3) Perform the analysis of a circuit using nodal analysis, mesh analysis, Thevenin's and Norton's Theorems.
4) Demonstrate the transfer of maximum power to a circuit using maximum power transfer theorem, practically.
5) Perform practical applications of operational amplifiers.
6) Investigate working of RL and RC circuits, practically.
7) Define basic circuit components.
8) Utilize computer aided measurement systems.

Course Contents

This course covers: measurement and calculations of DC electrical quantities, Ohm’s and Kirchoff’s Laws, Series-parallel circuits, Meter loading effect, Node and Mesh analysis, Linearity and superposition theorem, Thevenin’s and Norton’s Theorems, Maximum power transfer theorem, Operational amplifier circuits, RC and RL circuits.
