Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Explain related to Turkish mythology, myths describe the basic features.
2) Comment on assesing meaning and functions of myths in terms of socio-cultural context in Turkey.
3) Compare the myth of texts in relation to other literary genres with those texts intellectually.
4) Comment on selected sample texts of the Turkish myths and folk beliefs in the context of cultural codes.
5) Comment on the traces of the culture in today's Turkish myths.

Course Contents

This course provides the student knowledge of history in the epic saga concept and meaning of the concept is loaded, myths, legends, rituals and myths of relationship will focus on the properties. Psychoanalytic Theory of Literature in the field of folklore usage, Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Alfred Adler, theorists such as Joseph Campbell used to be examined in detail the methods of psychoanalysis. In light of these methods, will be resolved primarily by the Turkish epics.
