Course Contents

Introduction to sculpture. Principles and elements of Art. History of sculpture: Prehistoric periods. Art of Sculpture in Mesopotamia and Egypt. General view on Greek Sculpture; Literature; Aim and Use of Purpose; Material and Techniques; Methods of Workmanship; Master Workman tools; Coloring; Sculpture of the Geometric Period; History, historical geography and sub-periods of Archaic Age. Typology of Statues in the Archaic period: Korai and Kuroi. Architectural Sculpture of Archaic Period Group Sculpture of Archaic Period.

7) Sculpture of Archaic Period; Early Examples: Statues of Auxerre and Nikandre, Biton and Kleobis, Volomandro Kouros, Tenea Kouros;....
