1) Recognize pottery production and art in historical perspective covering from the protogeometric to the sigillata types of pottery.
2) Identify Medieval potttery fragments as a material culture frequents archaeological excavations and survey.
3) Classify ceramics according to function, form and paste.
4) Distinguish types of common ware and fine ware, as well as, glazed and unglazed ware.
5) Distinguish Islamic and Byzantine ware according to technique and decoration.
6) Examine fabrics of Late Roman C pottery to distinguish Phocaean, African and Cypriot Red Slip Ware from one another.
