Course Contents

This course deals with the developments from Document of Agreement (Sened-i İttifak) to collapse of Ottoman period, political inheritance from Ottoman to the Republic period, political life in Republic period.

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction to the course, explaining its objective and contents
2) Information on the overall structure of the Ottoman State
3) Exploring democratization movement in Europe in historical process
4) Informing on causes and effects of Document of Agreement (Sened-I İttifak)
5) Informing on the causes and effects of preparation of Administrative Reforms Edict (Tanzimat Fermanı)
6) Evaluation of the developments in Administrative Reforms period and their effects on Ottoman political life.
