Course Contents

This course covers basic concepts, facility and its environment, facility design process, the relationship of facility and design, pre-feasibility, selection of place of incorporation, the models and techniques for plant layout, transportation technique, MODI, VAM, MAGYAR, quantitative criterion for facility layout, a decision making technique: Electre, qualitative multi-criterion decision making techniques, systematic facility layout planning, operation process diagrams, flow-operation relationship diagrams and wimmert technique.
