Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Investigating the processes responsible for producing the diversity of magmatic rock types.
2) Identifying the important features of magmatic rocks in thin section and hand specimen.
3) Investigating the igneous petrological problems by using numerical and graphical techniques.
4) Observing the relationships between magma generation and global tectonic processes.
5) Investigating the main characteristics of magmatic rocks that can be determined by field studies and the mechanisms of their emplacement.
