Course Contents

Stress-strain relations. Deformation of the rocks. Definition and interpretation of joint structures. Shear zones. Faults, classification of faults. Strike slip faults, geometry of strike slip fault systems, geomorphologies derived from strike slip faults. Depression and uplift mechanisms in the strike slip fault systems. Evolution of pull-apart basins in the strike slip fault systems. Folds, classification and interpretation of folds structures. Plate tectonics. Earthquakes.

1) Stres-Strain relations and deformation of rocks, analysis of the outcrop and three-points problems via ortographic projection method
2) Deformation of rocks, stress components in the geological structures, analysis of the outcrop and three-points problems via ortographic projection method
3) Joints, analysis of three-points problems via ortographic projection method
4) Faults and classification of faults, analysis of apperent dip problems via ortographic projection method
5) Strike slip faults and geomorphological structures related to the strike slip faults
6) Secondary faults, depression and uplift mechanisms in the strike slip fault systems
