Course Contents

Historical development of plastic materials and plastic industry, classification of plastic materials, chemical structure of plastic materials, polymerization process and their varieties, physical structure of plastic materials, blending of plastic materials and reinforced plastic materials, mechanical behaviour of plastic materials, destructive tests of plastic materials, forming methods of plastic materials; pressure forming, rotating forming, transfer forming, rotating-casting forming, injection forming, extrusion and welding of plastic materials.

1) Historical development of plastic materials and plastic industry.
2) Classification of plastic materials, chemical structure of plastic materials, thermoset and thermoplastic plastics.
3) Polymerization process and their varieties, policondensation, poliaddition.

5) Physical structure of plastic materials, determination of molecule weight of plastics, blending of plastic materials and reinforced plastic materials.
