Course Contents

General information; mass transfer, and its importance in air conditioning. Thermodynamic properties of humid and dry air, and relationship, Psychrometric chart. The various air conditioning processes; humidification, heating, drying, and cooling, the definition of comfort for the air conditioner, calculation of cooling and heating loads for summer and winter air conditioners, determination of the total amount of necessary conditioned air supply and its properties for a given location. The air distribution and duct design methods. The automatic control systems used in air conditioning systems, air conditioning projects

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction of HAVAC systems
2) Equipments of HAVAC systems and introduction of main component
3) Thermodynamic properties of humid and dry air, and their relationship (temperature, specific, relative and absolute humidity, density and enthalpy
4) Examples about thermodynamic properties of humid and dry air
5) Psychometric and psychometric cart
6) The various air conditioning processes; humidification, heating, drying, and cooling of humid air
7) Visa exam.
8) The various air conditioning processes; humidification by adiabatic, decreasing humidity by chemical material, mixing humid air, types and effectiveness of humidification
9) Examples for psychometrics processes
10) Comfort and definition of its conditions
11) Estimation of cooling and heating loads for HAVAC systems
12) Examples for estimation of cooling and heating loads of HAVAC systems
