Course Contents

Preparation of laboratory handouts, experimental set-up and specimens; tensile test(behavior of steels and non-ferrous metals), impact test (behavior of Steels and non-ferrous metals); measurement of hardness (HB, HV and HRC hardness tests), measurement of toughness (bending strength test); fracture toughness (determination by HV) / microhardness; x-ray diffraction and analysis of diffraction pattern; sintering of metal powders; heat treatment of steels (homogenization, softening, normalizing and recrystallization); hardenability of steels and measurement of hardenability (Jominy test); heat treatment of aluminum and aluminum alloys; surface roughness (PVD and sputter coating under vacuum); sieve analysis (metal powder produced by PREP)
