This lesson covers ;reviewing relational database models and introducing advanced topics in databases by focusing on object-relational databases (ORDB) – nested relations, complex types, inheritances, reference types, querying with complex types, functions and procedures, dbject oriented versus object-relational. ORDB enables storage and manipulation of user defined complex data types. We will take spatial data and databases as an application domain and make some in class applications.
