Course Contents

The course consists of the sources and the general principles of lex mercatoria, commonly used international commercial contract types, payment methods, and resolution of disputes arising from international commercial contracts in court and arbitration.

3) The sphere of application of The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, is one of the resources of lex mercatoria.
4) Contract types are commonly used in international trade.
5) Preferred payment methods in international trade.
6) Issues to be considered while preparing international commercial contracts.
7) Resolution of disputes arising from international commercial contracts by the court.
8) Application of the lex mercatoria to the merits of the dispute in court proceedings.
9) General information on international arbitration.
10) Resolution of disputes arising from international commercial contracts through arbitration.
11) Application of the lex mercatoria to the merits of the dispute in international arbitration.
12) Recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards.
