Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Have a general knowledge of what animal welfare is
2) Learns and compares different animal rights theories, especially those of authors such as Peter Singer, Tom Regan and Gary Francione.
3) Have information about the legal status and rights of animals.
4) Learns the legal regulations in Turkey on animal rights. Have knowledge about animal rights regulations in the international arena and in different countries, especially the Universal Declaration of Animal Rights.
