1) The student knows the concept of child and child development.

3) The student understands the crimes that children can commit in the Turkish penal system and the concept of the child driven to crime in this context.

5) The student evaluates the principles of investigation and prosecution, the role of lawyers in crimes of which children are victims and perpetrators; juvenile courts and trial procedure.

Course Contents

Juvenile Criminal Law course covers measures that are applicable to juvenile delinquents, how these measures are implemented, investigation and prosecution procedures specific to juvenile delinquents and other issues differing from procedures concerning adult delinquents. The aim of this course is to explain students the difference of juvenile law at least in the sense of criminal law. The status of juveniles as separate legal subjects is emphasized with this course.
