Course Contents

Modernization and Europe, the French Revolution and its effects to the Ottoman Empire, the reforms of the Tanzimat and the Islahat, the first and the second constitutional periods the Balkan Wars, the entry of the Ottoman Empire into the First World War, the Armistice of Mondros, Atatürk’s Personality and his Arrival in Samsun, the congresses, the Independence War, abolition of Sultanate, the Peace Treaty of Lausanne. This course covers Ataturk's revolutions, foreign policies conducted with the emergence of the Republic, transition to a multi-party system and its effects on social and economic life,the consequences of the Second World War and policies implemented from the 60s .

3) The first period of the Ottoman Empire in the westernization efforts, westernization efforts in the first period of the Tanzimat and Islahat Ottoman Empire, Tanzimat and Islahat era of the English The French Revolution, understand them the effects on the Ottoman state.
