Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Knows the diagnosis and treatment methods for maxillofacial trauma.
2) Knows the physiopathology, classification, diagnosis and treatment methods in thermal, electrical, flame and chemical burns.
3) Knows the diagnosis and treatment methods of hand injuries.
4) Knows the diagnosis and treatment methods in tanomalies (cleft palate and lip, hand and finger anomalies, craniofacial anomalies, vascular anomalies, ear anomalies and developmental disorders).
5) Knows the basic repair and reconstruction methods (Repair with grafts in tissue defects, usage areas of skin grafts and application methods, repair of flaps with tissue defects, types of flaps and application examples, reconstruction methods used after various ablative operations, methods of breast reconstruction after mastectomy, repair methods of head and neck grafts after cancer surgery).
6) Knows the Ideal methods of suturing, suture materials, wound dressing0 practically and theoretically. Knows what can be done with plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
7) Gains knowledge about wound healing.

Course Contents

Maxillofacial trauma. Diagnosis and treatment methods. Physiopathology, classification, diagnosis and treatment methods in thermal, electrical, flame and chemical burns. Diagnosis and treatment methods of hand injuries. To learn diagnosis and treatment methods in the following congenital anomalies:   Diagnosis and treatment methods of cleft palate and lip. Diagnosis and treatment methods of hand and finger anomalies.   Diagnosis and treatment methods in craniofacial anomalies.   Diagnosis and treatment methods in vascular anomalies. Diagnosis and treatment methods of ear anomalies and developmental disorders.
