Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Knows the importance and basic principles of rehabilitation medicine.
2) Gets a story about the musculoskeletal system diseases and gains the clinical examination skills.
3) Knows the clinical signs and symptoms of common rheumatologic diseases, laboratory and radiological findings and basic treatment approaches.
4) Knows the diagnosis / treatment and rehabilitation applications especially in neurological and pediatric rehabilitation subjects in medical rehabilitation.
5) Gets the necessary information about the prevention and treatment of complications of musculoskeletal diseases and diseases related to rehabilitation medicine.
6) Knows the effects, indications, contraindications and complications of physical therapy modalities.
7) Knows the physiology of the therapeutic exercises and their use in therapy.

Course Contents

Clinical Assessment Of Musculoskeletal System I, Pmr Modalities, Therapeutic Exercises, Occupational Therapy, Orthotics, Pharmacological Treatment İn Pmr, Spondyloarthropathies, Radiographic Evaluation İn Pmr, Stroke Rehabilitation, Osteoarthritis, Extra-articular Rheumatologic Diseases And Fibromyalgia Syndrome. Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Neck And Low Back Pain, Cerebral Palsy, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Osteoporosis.

Weekly Schedule

1) Neurological Examination, Spine Physical Examination, Approach to the patient with neck and low back pain, Cervical and Lumbar spine physical examination, Medical history in musculoskeletal system and practical approach to a patient with pain, Physical medicine modalities, Upper and Lower extremity physical examination, Approach to rheumatological diseases, Upper and Lower extremity pain and examination, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cerebral Palsy, Cerebral Plasy examination, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Approach to a patient diagnosed with non-articular rheumatic diseases and Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Stroke rehabilitation, Stroke patient examination, Osteoarthritis
