Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Makes the most common symptoms in the respiratory system and their differential diagnosis.
2) Performs the physical examination of the respiratory system, distinguishes pathological conditions and interprets pathological examination findings according to differential diagnosis principles.
3) Diagnoses the airway diseases such as asthma and COPD, treats patients in stable and attack periods.
4) Diagnoses the community-acquired pneumonia, treats it, explains the complications, refers according to its weight.
5) Diagnoses and treats tuberculosis disease, contributes to the formation of public awareness in the fight against tuberculosis.
6) Knows the risk factors of venous thromboembolism, diagnoses and makes emergency treatment of venous thromboembolism.
7) Suspects lung cancers and guides for diagnosis and treatment.
8) Knows the physical examination and differential diagnosis features of a patient with pleural fluid and refers them to the relevant centers.
9) Recognizes environmental and occupational lung diseases and raise awareness in the society for protection from environmental and occupational lung diseases.
10) Recognizes and applies the treatments for quitting tobacco and tobacco products.
11) Knows and applies the inhaler methods used in respiratory system diseases.
12) Interprets the pulmonary function tests and chest X-ray.

Approach to respiratory system symptoms and signs, basic diagnostic methods, diagnosis and treatment of common diseases and respiratory system emergencies
