Course Contents

This course includes cold glass techniques like paving with stone, sandblasting, etching, engraving, polishing and heated glass shaping methods like fusion.

Weekly Schedule

1) Recognising Kiln Formed Glass.
2) Designing for kiln formed glass.
3) Making model from clay as the design.
4) Getting silicon mould from finished model.
5) Making a plaster mouldup on the silicon one.
6) Getting models of parafin from finished moulds.
7) Makeing final plaster moulds for the firing.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Drying proses for the moulds before firing.
10) Pouring into the mold as much of glass as needed which has been weighed.
11) Firing process.
12) Cleaning process of the products.
13) Preparing the products for the exhibition.
14) Getting ready for the exhibition.
15) Preparing for presentation.
16) Final examination
