Course Contents

In the course of GRAPHIC ART HISTORY, developments in graphic design from the 20th century are studied. The impact of the development of graphic design on movements in the arts and culture are explained. The Visual Communication Effect of the 20th Century Industrial Revolution, The Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau Movements; Modernism in the first half of the 20th century, Bauhaus and New typography, Modernist approaches in America; Typographic approaches in information age and globalization process, The New York School, corporate identity and new visual communication systems; Postmodernism and graphic design, Digital Revolution and Beyond, the important events that took place in the field of design from the 20th century to the present day are studied and the basilica developments of the graphic design history that teaches current trends are taught.
