Course Contents

Economy press and economy services. Their birth and development. Basic economic concepts and terms, economic policies, and economic reporting throughout the twentieth century. National economy policies and development. Ataturk and Bayar era. Planned development and the rise of the economy journalism. Post-1980 transformation and the new form of economic journalism. Neoliberal doctrine before the Washington Consensus. Neoliberal policies and problems of economic journalism after 2000s. Macroeconomics and microeconomics for journalism. Economy reporters and news sources. Economy journalism in the world, foreign economic news. Business organizations as news sources. Trends and economy journalism in the future.
