Course Contents

Within the scope of the course, the concept of sustainability, its history, definition and objectives will be covered. Sustainability studies in different fields will be given examples. Renewable energy, product life cycle, materials and recycling will be covered. Institutional sustainability studies will be explained. Institutional sustainability reports of public and private institutions will be examined. Future scenarios will be studied.

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction and General Introduction (Aim of the Course, Content, Methodology and Methods to be Used)
2) The concept of sustainability, sustainable development, the concept of sustainable business, the forces that push businesses to be sustainable, the dimensions and fields of sustainability.
3) The concept of corporate sustainability, the principles on which corporate sustainability is based, the triple performance approach in corporate sustainability, the corporate sustainability model, the necessary elements for the realization of sustainability.
4) Corporate sustainable management system, the place of corporate sustainability in management accounting practices, sustainability reporting, the role of leading managers in ensuring sustainability
5) Sustainability in terms of corporate communication and target audiences. Definition of Customer Value, Sustainability in Customer Value Perspective, Sustainable Customer, Sustainable Consumption, Sustainable Marketing, sustainable stakeholder.
6) Sustainability in terms of corporate communication and target audiences. Environmentalist organizational culture and climate, the concept and importance of sustainable human resources.
