Course Contents

Basic concepts and definitions; brain as thinking organ, grouping of ways of thinking and thinking; involuntary thinking and characteristics; voluntary thinking and characteristics; methods of voluntary thinking; critical and analytical thinking; the basic features and criteria of critical and analytical thinking, the stages of critical and analytical thinking; factors affecting critical and analytical thinking; the scope of critical and analytical thinking; critical and analytic reading; critical and analytic listening; critical and analytical writing.

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction of concepts and terminology. What is critical thinking, and why is it important?
2) Types of thinking (creative, analytical, synthetic, etc.) and their characteristics. Case studies and discussions.
3) Logic and argument structure. Types of fallacies and their identification.
4) Stages of analytical thinking. Data analysis and interpretation.
5) Reliability, objectivity, and consistency. Evaluation of evidence.
6) Text analysis techniques. Understanding the author's purpose and arguments.
7) Active listening skills. Analysis of verbal arguments.
8) Developing and proving arguments. Techniques for persuasive writing.
9) .In-depth analysis of texts. Extracting main ideas and subtexts.
10) Understanding subtexts in communication. Deep analysis of what is being said.
11) Scientific and technical writing techniques. Detailed and logical argument structure.
12) Real-life examples and case studies. Comparative analyses.
13) Evaluation of previous weeks' learning. Analysis of personal thinking styles.
14) Students prepare a project using their critical and analytical thinking skills. Presentation of projects and class discussions.
15) Final Exam
