Course Contents

Basic concepts and principles of effective teaching and learning; professional competencies, attitudes, roles and behaviors of teachers; preparing a lesson plan; the scope, benefits and limitations of the micro teaching method; preparing active learning activities appropriate to the topic; sample lecture applications in class; video recording of course presentations; evaluation of the course by taking advantage of the records; development of prepared activities and lectures.

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction to Effective Teaching and Learning Concepts Topics: Definition and importance of effectiveness in education. An overview of learning theories. Activities: Classroom discussions. Short presentations on learning theories.
2) Principles of Effective Teaching Topics: Effective teaching strategies and methods. Adapting to diverse learning needs. Activities: Case studies and group discussions. Mini projects involving effective teaching strategies.
3) Introduction to Teacher Competencies Topics: Fundamental competencies of the teaching profession. Professional ethics and attitudes. Activities: Role-playing and scenario analysis. Reflective writing on professional attitudes.
4) The Role and Behavior of Teachers Topics: The teaching environment and student relationships. The role of teachers in society. Activities: Conducting interviews with real teachers. Workshop on classroom management strategies.
5) Techniques for Preparing Lesson Plans Topics: Elements of an effective lesson plan. Setting lesson objectives. Activities: Lesson plan design workshop. Reviewing and critiquing sample lesson plans.
6) Practical Lesson Plan Preparation Topics: Diversity and flexibility in lesson plans. Assessing learning outcomes. Activities: Preparing and presenting one's own lesson plans. Peer evaluation.
7) Designing Active Learning Activities Topics: What is active learning and why is it important? Different types of learning activities. Activities: Interactive games and simulations. Activity design workshop.
