Course Contents

In this course, starting with the definition of the concept of acoustics, sound and features, human sound perception, sound and space components, sound insulation and the interior hall (theater, concerts, etc.) to make editing the ideal acoustic criteria will be given both theoretical and practical examples.

Weekly Schedule

1) Acoustic definition, the basic physical properties of sound.
2) Basic audio parameters (wavelength, frequency, Period, amplitude, propagation velocity, sound pressure, sound intensity, etc.).
3) Hearing and Detection event (ear and hearing range, loudness, masking the event).
4) Noise concept, definition and components.
5) The concept of level and level operations (dB, the sound power level, sound pressure level, sound intensity level, their relationships, and calculations).
6) Example calculations.
7) Introduction to Volume acoustics, sound behavior of open and closed space.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) The concept of sound insulation, structural elements of sound transmission.
10) Single-and double-layer transition and the behavior of the sound elements.
11) Natural sound design criteria for the ideal form to be used in halls.
12) Ceiling halls ideal for sound propagation criteria edit form and materials.
13) Regulatory criteria for sound propagation is ideal for halls, wall elements and materials.
14) Reverberation time calculation and correction methods, editing and calculation of the sample space.
15) Sample applications.
16) Final examination
