Course Contents

Contents of this course are: History of industry, ecology concept, explanation of the concept of sustainability and its relationship between building and sustainability, the relationship between sustainability and interior design.

Weekly Schedule

1) Concept of Sustanability.Sustanability and development. Natural environment and economy. Energy consumption and environmental pollution, urbanization and population growth, economic conditions, the effects of sustainability.
2) Dimensions of sustainable development. Sustainability of economic size. The social dimension in sustainability. Dimension of environmental sustainability.
3) Principles of sustanability.
4) Introduction to the concept of sustanability in interior design. Sustainable approaches in interior design. Analysis of the economic benefits of sustainable design.
5) Tasks of design and design-related industries in sustainable development.
6) Preliminary studies with regards to on a sustainability place or a particular product.
7) Sustainable design principles and construction methods.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Design and evaluation of the life cycle design.
10) Studying examples of sustainable space.
11) Sustainability and furniture design.
