1) Do literature review and investigations of a project and site in an urban context and history.
2) Analyze the determined site.
3) Use the outcomes of the analysis according to the design.
4) Develop two and three dimensional designs via those evaluations.
5) Use efficiently utilize the principles of lighting, acoustics, use of energy, climatization in designs.

Course Contents

Definition of urban settlement. Basic elements of settlement: squares, streets, courts, definition of historical settlement, social analysis on an urban zone, functional analysis, studying of natural and topographic properties, forming of architectural program, analysis of various design approaches, practical urban and building design studio for various components of the city.
