1) Explain the physiological characteristics of a healthy newborn.
2) List the newborn's adaptation process to extrauterine life.
3) Believes in the importance of starting the newborn's interaction with the mother early.
4) Distinguishes risky situations in newborns.
5) Applies midwifery care for the newborn's sucking-feeding process.
6) Provides education and consultancy to the mother on issues regarding the hygienic practices of the newborn..
7) Discharges the newborn and plans its follow-up.

Course Contents

This course includes topics such as examination and evaluation of the healthy newborn in the delivery room, newborn screening, breastfeeding and feeding the newborn, midwifery approaches to high-risk newborns, and neonatal infections.
