Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Recognize the mental health, mental disorders concepts and affecting factors mental health
2) İndicate features of mentally healthy person and common symptoms in persons with mental disorder
3) Evaluate risk-bearing groups in terms of mental health in the community
4) Explain the importance of protection, maintaining and furthering of community mental health and responsibilities of the midwife in this area
5) Review data and existing status of regarding to mental health / women’s mental health status in our country and the world
6) Explain the the effects of women’s mental health of developmental periods and marriage, situation such as infertility, divorce, rape and violence
7) Explain the woman’s mental reactions in pregnancy, maternity and puerperium with psychiatric disorders in this periods
8) Recognize the most common mental health problems in childhood
9) Defines the concept of paraphilia and paraphilic disorders

This course covers; Basic concepts in mental health, mental health / status of women’s mental health and disease, psychiatric symptoms, risk situations in women’s mental health (menarche, menstruation, marriage, infertility, divorce, menopause, rape, violence), pregnancy and mental health, maternity and mental health, puerperium mental health, child mental health
