Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Knows basic statistical concepts.
2) Determines to proper descriptive statistics by checking type of the variable and distribution of data, calculates these statistics and interprets the results.
3) Constructs relevant tables and graphics which are convenient to data.
4) Calculates probability by using basic theoretical distributions.
5) Knows concepts of sampling distribution, standard error and confidence interval.
6) Selects, applies and interprets appropriate hypothesis tests.
7) Applies correlations and simple linear regression analysis.

Basic statistical definitions, descriptive statistics, theoretical distributions, sampling distributions, sampling methods, required sample size, hypothesis tests, correlation and linear regression methods are the contents of this course.
