Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Explain the basic principals and consepts regarding oral radiology in terms of radiation physics and biology.
2) Evaluates the methods for radiation protection and safety procedures, is informed for the responsibilities about the issue.
3) Express the precautions of dental approach to the patient before and after radiotheraphy.
4) Explain the technical aspects of intraoral and extraoral radiographic imaging techniques used in imaging dentomaxillofacial region, is able to decide to use the proper imaging technique after evaluating the indications.
5) Explain the conventional/digital imaging processing modalities used in oral radiology, evaluates the radiological quality and to correct the mistakes formed in processing.
6) Explain the special and advanced imaging techniques used in oral radiology
7) Distinguishes the anatomical dentomaxillofacial entities in the radiographs of the region and to evalautes them.
