Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) To have knowledge about the anatomical variations and non pathological changes of the oral mucosa and to evaluate oral mucosa for differential diagnosis
2) To be able to detect and evaluate lesions of the oral diseases properly
3) To have knowledge about the properties of the oral diseases and to be able to evaluate lesions of the oral mucosa in terms of differential diagnosis,
4) To have knowledge about the precancerous lesions and early diagnosis of oral carcinomas
5) T o be able to refer the patient the patient to related medical departments for the lesions of systemic diseases and to have sufficient knowledge for the consultation

Course Contents

The anatomic variations and non pathological changes of the oral mucosa, the properties of the oral mucosal lesions, the properties of the oral diseases, early diagnosis of oral carcinomas and precancerous lesions

7) Apthae related diseases
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) White lesions of the oral mucosa
10) Precancerous lesions and early diagnosis in oral carcinomas
11) Oral mucosa in bullous diseases
12) Pigmented lesions of the oral mucosa
13) Diseaes of tongue, diseases of lip
14) Changes in oral mucosa due to prosthesis
15) Allergic and toxic reactions due to materials and drugs
16) Final examination
