Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Clarify the morphology of the pulpal space.
2) Explain the dental materials and instruments used in endodontics.
3) Perform the basic and the fundamental operative procedures (access root canal system, working length determination, shaping and cleaning techniques, root canal system obturation techniques).
4) Explain the preparation of adequate access preparations for each tooth.
5) Improve to interpret the radiographs of teeth endodontically treated.
6) Use endodontic materials and instruments.

Course Contents

Includes preclinical demonstration and homework using extracted teeth. Access cavity preparation, mechanical preparation, irrigation and obturation are performed for mounted anterior, premolar and molar teeth. Every stage is controlled by taking radiographs.

7) Demonstration of step-back technique

9) Mechanical preparation and obturation of maxillary incisor teeth
10) Mechanical preparation and obturation of mandibular incisor teeth
11) Mechanical preparation and obturation of maxillary premolar teeth
