Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Recognize the operating tools in electrical facilities, know the operating characteristics and make their selections.
2) Design an MV / LV distribution project of a town or settlement.
3) Make the selection of line conductors, control the compatibility of the sections in terms of heating, voltage drop.
4) Make simple short-circuit calculations.
5) Make the selection and adjustment of measurement and protection elements required for the plant.

Course Contents

MV / LV (Medium Voltage / Low Voltage) electricity distribution networks introduction, structures, plant shapes and feeding patterns , Characteristic features and selection of operating tools in MV / LV networks sub plants, Economic basis for the installation and operation of MV / LV distribution Networks, Load estimation in MV / LV Networks, Control of the conformity of the conductors selected in MV / AG networks according to the heating, short-circuit current and voltage drop criteria, Control of the availability of operating devices used in MV / AG network according to short-circuit current, Application of MV / LV electricity distribution project of a sample settlement.
