Course Contents

Fundemantals of scientific research. Origins and history of research methods. Data collecting process. Quantitative and qualitative research. Data analysis. Chapters that needs to be in a research report. Noteworthy rules for writing a research report. Ensuring the research process is experienced according to problems related to the area.

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction to the course. Scientific research fundamentals. Definitions of scientific knowledge, phenomenon,, concept, principle, law, hypothesis, theory. What is research? How to operate a research process?
2) Review of the research methods and history. How to start a research and how to develop a research questions?
3) Data collecting process. Universe, sample and variable terms. Methods in related area researches. Sample problems.
4) Design of quantitative research and fundamentals. Data collecting methods at quantitave research. Developing of survey, observation form, and scale factor.
5) Design of qualitative research. Data collecting methods at qualitative research (meeting, observation, analysing document). Developing of meeting questions and observation documents according to related area. Data analysis at qualitative research.
6) Noteworthy ethical and technical rules while researching and reporting.
7) Chapters needed at a research report and noteworthy rules while writing a report (references, contents list of tables, etc.)
