1) Understanding analog and digital system, entities, what makes a system digital.
2) An ability to use binary, octal and hexedesimal numbering system
3) Comprehending coding systems and convertion of the coding systems
4) Understanding basic properties of Boolean algebra
5) Understanding the operation of discrete logic gates
6) An ability to analyse and use Karnaugh maps to find minimal sum-of-products and products-of-sums expressions
