Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) The student knows the basic concepts and theoritical frames of intercultural communication and get acquainted with the main sources and sample cases about interculturality.
2) The students learn that interculturality is not to be taken and thought in term of nation-state paradigm. The students explain the transformation of interculturality in differnt social formations throughout history.
3) The students explain the experinces of interculturilty in both media contents and daily life and discuss diffrent cases in intercultural contexts conceptually.
4) The students analyze the intercultural and multicultural forms of new citizenship in terms of globalization process in various media content and artistic texts.

Introduction to basic concepts about intercultural communication, The general maps of cultural theory from clasical social theory to postmodern approaches, The history of intercultural communication studies, Theories of intercultural comminication, The identiy and conflict in the context of cultural differences, Intercultural communicaiton competence in various social contexts, Ethics in intercultural communication, Intercultural communication in populer culture.
