Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) explain aircraft fire protection system.
2) State requirement of fire and smoke detection systems and name the different locations where smoke detectors have to be.
3) Explain the basic operating principle of the different smoke detection systems
4) Describe general rules of the fire dedection system, smoke dedection system, fire extinguishing system and related indications in the cockpit.
5) Describe the operation of the extinguishing agent, the indications and the functional test of a fire extinguishing system.
6) explain aircraft fuel systems.
7) Describe the purpose of the fuel system and system lay-out.
8) Explain fuel system features; storage, refuelling, distribution, control, transfer, venting and indicating and their subsystems.
9) Describe the function of the dumping system and their types and explain dumping system control and indications.
10) Describe the operation of the extinguishing agent, the indications and the functional test of a fire extinguishing system.
11) Define why required to display fuel tank quantity. State the methods of fuel quantity indications.
