Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Students learn the concepts of sufism and sufi.Students get informed about the Islamization of Anatolia.Students understand the influence of Ahmed Yesevi on Anatolian Sufi thought.Students get informed about the Anatolian representatives of Ibn Arabi’s sufism.Students learn about the orders of Kadirism, Rifaism, Halvetism, Bayramism and such.Students get informed about the formation and tradition of the sufi orders and lodges.

Course Contents

To introduce the sufis who were influencial at the spread of Islam in Anatolia and to investigate their works. To acknowledge the role of sufis at the formation of art, science and ethics of the culture of Anatolia.

8) Mawlavism and Mawlavi logdes in Anatolia
9) Yunus Emre and his concept of Sufism
10) The influences of Yunus Emre
11) Haci Bayram Veli and his concept of Sufism
12) The followers of Haci Bayrami Veli and Bayramism
13) Esrefoglu Rumi and his works
14) The order of Esrefiyye and Esrefi lodges in Anatolia and Istanbul
