Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Recognize the history and important representatives of the Philosophy of Religion
2) Understand the ways of working with and evaluating domestic and foreign sources in the Philosophy of Religion
3) Learn to critically evaluate new approaches aiming at dealing with religion from a philosophical point of view
4) Evaluate theistic and atheistic arguments
5) Learn and evaluate the basic issues of philosophy of religion
6) Evaluate the basic claims of religion objectively in terms of philosophy of religion

Course Contents

Definition and problems of Philosophy of Religion. Arguments fort he existence of God. Thoughts about God and attributes of God. Revelation and miracles. The concept of reason, belief and faith. Religious language. Atheism and its kinds. Religious pluralism. The problem of evil. The relation between religion and ethic. Religion and Science. Life after death.
