Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Explaining the reasons and results of unemployment, inflation, national income, economic fluctuations and identifying financial markets, exchange rate and public deficits and evaluating them in terms of maritime sector
2) Expressing the thoughts and approaches of Classical and Keynesian economics
3) Calculating the indicators like consumption, investment and public spends through national income analyses and evaluating them in the scope of maritime sector
4) Clarify directing the economy and struggling with the problems through effective supply-effective demand analyses by using policy instruments like money policy, banking and fiscal policy and evaluating the possible outcomes of those policies in maritime area
5) Synthesizing international economy and international trade in terms of maritime companies and sector

This course includes national accounts and other macroeconomic data sources, income and expenditure streams, monetary and fiscal policies in open and closed economies, aggregate demand and supply, unemployment, inflation, money, interest, consumption, savings, investment, public deficits and stabilization policies.
