Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
1) Identify the objectives and the principles of first aid
2) List the role and responsibility of a first aider
3) Check the signs of life
4) Describe and demonstrate first aid care for a victim with an obstructed airway
5) Describe and demonstrate CPR for an adult
6) Describe how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others
7) List the most appropriate method of emergency care in some life-threatening situations – acute bleeding, wounded, bone fractures, burns, poisoning, shock, hypothermia, and hyperthermia
