-History of painting, sculpture and architecture of Prehistoric period, Egyp ,Ancient Near East, Aegean, Ancient Greek, Etruscan, Ancient Roman, Early Christian, Byzantian, Early Medieval, Gothic and Renaisance

Weekly Schedule

1) Meeting and brifing on the contents of Art History.
2) Prehistoric Art: Prehistoric background, artistic innovations in Near East and Europe, characteristics of Prehistoric painting, sculpture and architecture.
3) Egyptian Art: Historical background, patronage and artistic life, artistic innovations in Egyptian architecture and characteristics of it in the Old, Middle and New Kingdom. Egyptian Painting and Sculpture: Artistic innovations and characteristics of Egyptian painting and sculpture with major works
4) Ancient Near Eastern Art: Historical background, innovations in ancient Near Eastern architecture, painting and sculpture. Characteristics of Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian, Hittite, Assyrian and Persian art and major works.
5) Aegean Art: Historical background, characteristics of Cycladic, Minoan and Mycenaean Art and major works. Ancient Greek Art: Historical background, characteristics of archaic, classical and hellenistic sculpture, pottery paintings and mosaic art with major works.

Romanesque Art: Historical background, general information about the Romanesque architecture, painting and sculpture with the major works.
13) Gothic Art: Historical background, innovations and characteristcs of Gothic architecture with major works. General information about the Gothic painting and the sculpture with major works
14) Early Renaissance in Itlay: General information about the birth of the Renaissance. General information and major works of architecture, painting and sculpture in Ferrara, Florence, Mantua, Naples, Rome, Venice and so on in between 1400-1500
15) Early and Later Renaissance in Northern Europe: From 1400 till 1600, general idea and major works on architecture, painting and sculpture in Flanders, Holland, Germany and France. Review.
