This course covers the knowledge of fuel chemistry and hydrocarbons, the constituent of fuels ,roducing petroleum-based fuels and the phase of refine,the reasons for the need of alternative fuels and engines,producing of methanol and its effects on engine performance and exhaust emissions, producing of ethanol and its effects on engine performance and exhaust emissions, the method of obtaining hydrogen and its effects on engine performance and exhaust emissions, working principles of fuel-cell technology and its advantages, methods of producing biodiesel and its effects on engine performance and exhaust emissions, processing boron for the conversion of fuel and its critical importance, hybrid engines and their working principles, wankell engine, its working principles, advantageous and disadvantageous.
