Petroleum, major processes for refining petroleum. Ways of obtaining petroleum from the ground. Atmospheric and vacuum distillation of crude oil. Name and uses of petroleum products that obtained from refining processes. Thermal and catalytic cracking processes of petroleum. Defining “octane level”. Way of increasing the octane level of benzine. Petrochemical industry, selected types of petrochemical industries, their raw materials, overall operations and final products. Major raw materials used in petrochemical industries. Field visits, conduct field visits to petrochemical industries.
