Course Contents

The course offers practical and theoretical information on recognizing feet diseases of horses (Laminitis, Eparven, Kurp, Jard Jardon, etc) with a focus on detecting and treating feet problems.

Weekly Schedule

1) Horse Nail Anatomy and Physiology
2) Structural harmony of the body, front and rear legs of structural adjustment, normal appearance of the front legs, incorrect view of the front legs
3) Normal appearance of the rear legs, incorrect view of rear legs, compliance of foot structural
4) Leg conformation mistakes including horse gaits and movements, horse gaits and gait problems
5) Heel and frog diseases in horses
6) Diseases of the fore leg
7) Diseases of the hind legs
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Heel and Metacarpus diseases
10) Club foot and phalanges growth
11) Jard-Jardon and Kurb disease
12) Laminitis and Eparven disease
13) Introduction to Blacksmithing and Types of horseshoe
14) Hoof cutting and blacksmithing exercise
