Course Contents

The course equips students with the knowledge of resources and structural properties of drugs, basic pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, biochemical substance that affects transformation, drug interactions and unwanted toxic forms, dosage of drugs and drug administration.

2) Sources of drugs and their properties and classification
3) The dose concept and the dose types of drugs
4) Application and Absorbtion of Drugs
5) Spread of drugs into the body and biotransformation
6) Impact mechanisms of drug action and side effects
7) Excretion of drugs
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Interactions among medications
10) Antiparasitic drugs used in horses
11) Antibiotics used in horses
12) Antifungal drugs used in horses
13) Antiviral drugs used in horses
14) Antiseptics and Disinfectants used in horses
15) Developments of new drugs and pharmaceutical preparations
16) Final examination
