1) Understand structure of glass and importance of technology on the glass, to define raw materials composed of glass.
2) Ensure raw materials, to prepare glass batch.
3) Solve glass batch calculations.
4) Distinguish glass species as a structurel and uses of them.
5) Learn glass species used as an artistic and to choose a glass related to product.
6) Associate glass and viscosity.
7) Distinguish glass defects and to remove them, to follow up technological development of glass.
8) Choose suitable glass used architectural design.

Course Contents

Definition of a glass, Raw materials of glass, sources of raw materials, preperation of batch, glass batch calculations, glass species according to their structure and usage areas, an artistic glasses, relationship between glass and viscosity, glass defects and architectural glasses and their properties.

2) Glass forming raw materials and their properties.
3) Glass forming raw materials and their properties.
4) Raw material sources, raw materials used for having glass oxides, glass pigments, carrying and storage of raw materials, preparing batch.
5) Factor concept and introduction to glass batch calculations.
6) Glass batch calculations and problem solutions.
7) Glass batch calculations and problem solutions.

9) Glass species acording to their structure and uses fields and their properties.
10) Artistic glass species and their properties.
11) What is viscosity? Glass-Viscosity relationship, viscosity measurement and importance of it.
